Viareggio, a start with a tris

By a match worthy a defending champion, Juventus enters noisily right away in the 62nd edition of Viareggio Cup. Legia Varsavia is beat 3-0 at the end of a match they fought for and they won, notwithstanding almost a half played in numeric inferiority (Marrone expelled) and a penalty parried by Pinsoglio at the end of first half, when 1-0.

The first victory bears the double sign of Ciro Immobile, who scored by head after a minute and on penalty at the end of first half. Final seal by Alcibiade, always more at ease in his “scoring” defender role. Right after three points, the same one of Vicenza which won 4-2 vs. Livorno and which on Wednesday will wait for the bianconeri for challenge already determinant for the success in Group A.

For the opening match on central pitch in Viareggio, Luciano Bruni can count on almost all principal players. Absent only Fausto Rossi, with precaution stopped, the trainer sends on the pitch the team with a sort of 4-3-3. In front of Pinsoglio, the defense with De Paola and Alcibiade central, Bamba on the right and Serino on the left. In the midfield Marrone, Belcastro and Giandonato, on the front space for fantasy of Yago and Esposito and to Immobile’s concreteness.

The Naples scorer, who scored two goals during the last year final vs. Sampdoria restarts with the same music. Esposito find him perfectly in the middle of the area: head and 1-0. The first 40 minutes are all bianconeri. Esposito and Yago invent one after the other, Marrone gives the right times and the Polish find it hard to understand.

Only a little mistake near the goal, does not allow the match to end. Twice Esposito, Yago and De Paola are not able to place the winning strike. Legia can be seen only once: De Paola is forced to put already opponent forward: Rocchi seas the fault, warns the central and gives the penalty. Pinsoglio takes care of that, by a great save, to keep the result.

A result that changes at 43’ . Immobile does everything, when he is irregularly stopped in the area. This time the maximum punition is for the bianconeri and the forward does not fail, signing the double score of 2-0 that ends up the first half.

Second half. Bruni’s team starts very strongly but at 8’ suffers an episode that could change the match. Marrone is forced to the fault from outside the area on a Legia’s player going toward to goal. Rocchi whistles the fault and expels the Captain. The immediate countermove: Yago out and Boniperti in, in a Juve that changes module with a more covered 4-4-1 to face the 35 still to be played.

The Polish start to believe and Pinsoglio is saved by the pole. Immobile confirms to be a great forward and at the first ball he touched during second half, he taps the third goal with a right turn kick. Even closer to the goal Esposito at 220 with a right touch that end up on the pole.

Around half an hour, Bruni takes out Immobile: in his place Libertazzi. Boniperti taps the tris with an external right touch that the goalkeeper sends in corner. But from the corner arrived the goal by Alcibiade, once again by head and by an assist by Esposito. For the defender is the third goal in a few weeks and for Juve is 3-0 that closes the match. In also Giuseppe Giovinco in the place of Esposito.

The match is over and the bianconeri can begin thinking at Wednesday match vs. Vicenza. Considering the success of Venetian on Livorno, the challenge scheduled in Pontedera (5.30 p.m.) becomes determinant for passing the turn.
