The Wednesday League round was exciting, but most of the excitement happened away from the Castellani. In Empoli, Juventus were unable to score and they ended the match 0-0 with two regrets: a rather obvious penalty denied to Iaquinta and most of all not having took full advantage of the rival teams' results.
Indeed both Fiorentina (at Napoli) and AC Milan (at home against Sampdoria) lost tonight. In any case Ranieri's team increased their advantage, even if only by one point. Now they have five points more than the Viola and nine more than the Rossoneri, but the advantage could have been greater.
There's no time for regrets, though. Saturday it's already time for the big match, away to Inter Milan, who drew at Genoa and will thus be looking for points to inch closer to the League title.
