"It's always a great feeling when they ask me to talk about Juventus."
This sentence summarises so much about Doctor Umberto Agnelli, who on 27 May 2004 sadly left us.
Il Dottore, deeply connected to the Bianconeri colours and to the love for his Juventus, became the club's youngest ever President at the age of 22, on 27 June 1956.
During his stewardship which lasted until 1962, Umberto Agnelli, as well as growing champions such as Giampiero Boniperti, Omar Sivori and John Charles ("The Magic Trio"), led the club to its first star, that of the tenth Scudetto (1958), to which two more were added to in 1960 and 1961, and two Coppa Italias (1959 and 1960).
In the following years his link with Juventus had always remained strong, and in 1994 he became the club's Honorary President. His return to the club marked another cycle of success that brought Juventus not only back to the top of Italy, but also onto that of the world stage. Five Scudetti, one Coppa Italia, four Italian Supercups, an Intertoto Cup, a European Supercup and the Champions League and Intercontinental Cup followed.
Fourteen years later, the memory of Il Dottore still remains very much alive in the hearts of everyone connected to Juventus Football Club.
