In today's match, Wojciech Szczesny reached another big and important milestone in the Bianconeri jersey, making his 200th league appearance for Juventus.
He thus becomes the seventh foreign player in the club’s history to reach the milestone of 200 league appearances (since 1994/95), after Alex Sandro, Juan Cuadrado, David Trézéguet, Pavel Nedved, Paulo Dybala and Stephan Lichtsteiner. From the 1994/95 campaign, considering just Juventus goalkeepers, only Gianluigi Buffon (489) has played more games than him in the competition.
It's a milestone that closely follows his impressive feat of 100 clean sheets in Bianconero across all competitions. Since the 2017/18 campaign, his first season with Juventus in Serie A, only Samir Handanovic (80) has achieved more clean sheets than Tek (79) in the Italian top-flight, while no one has saved more penalty kicks than the Polish shotstopper in that period.
Szczesny (149) is also close to keeping a clean sheet in 150 matches in Europe's top five leagues, out of 403 games played.
As of the 2017/18 season, Szczesny is one of the two goalkeepers, alongside Samir Handanovic, with the best save percentage in Serie A (73% for both), considering goalkeepers with a minimum of 84 matches played in that period.
Since the 2004/05 campaign, among Juventus goalkeepers with at least 28 Serie A appearances, only Gianluigi Buffon (75.5%) boasts a higher save percentage than Tek (73%), who has played 34 games in this Serie A season, having played more games in the competition only once before (38 with Roma in the 2016/17 season).
Congratulations, Tek!
