Coach Massimiliano Allegri is pleased with Juventus' pre-season preparations ahead of the 2023/24 season getting underway, speaking to the press after the 8-0 win over the Next Gen side at the Allianz Stadium.
"We had a good session today that brings us closer to the fans in what is such an important year, being the centenary of the Agnelli family at Juventus," Allegri said. "We wanted to do well, the boys did that, especially coming into the game off the back of a heavy workload.
"We have goals that we want to achieve and we know the importance of the season, but we're working calmly and we're aware that the season starts in a week."
Juventus won't play European football in 2023/24, but Allegri is hoping to secure a return for 2024/25.
"Playing in Europe is always good, but this year we'll have the chance to work hard during the week and to improve. We are positive because last year, despite the complications, we finished third.
"We want to make it to March in the best shape we can with the minimum objective being to qualify for the Champions League"
Happy with his squad
"I'm happy with the squad I have, we have four good forwards in Dušan Vlahović, Moise Kean, Federico Chiesa and Arek Milik. Then there's Kenan Yildiz who has a lot of quality.
"Kaio Jorge is working well, he had physical problems and had to recover. Tonight he was supposed to play 30 minutes but he stayed on for longer and I'm very happy about that. He has the movements of a great player and it's a pleasure to watch him play. I hope he can overcome his injury problems, and then he has the quality needed to have a really good career."
