A hard-fought 1-0 success over Hellas Verona earlier on Tuesday enabled holders Allievi Nazionali to secure their seventh success in the Trofeo Arco di “Beppe Viola”.
The only goal of the came courtesy of forward Davide Arras who collected a pass from Carlo Manicone and then fired past the opposition shotstopper eight minutes before the half-time interval.
En route to their cup triumph, Felice Tufano’s troops topped a group containing Napoli, Atalanta and Arco before going on to defeat Parma in a seven-goal thriller at the semi-final stage on Sunday.
The Allievi Nazionali, who are due to return to league action over the coming weeks, have now won the Trofeo Arco di “Beppe Viola” more than any other side following victories in 1983, 1984, 1991, 1996, 2007 and 2014.
