Barbara Bonansea and Juventus Women will continue together. The forward, who has won everything wearing our shirt, has signed a new contract to keep her with us until 30 June, 2025.
Barbara arrived at Juventus back in 2017, having developed with Torino before going on to rule over Italian football with Brescia, she joined a new project with Juventus and helped it as it came to life, immediately becoming a leader in the group and establishing herself as one of the stars of the Italian women’s football movement.
Born in Pinerolo and a Juventus fan since birth, Barbara has gone on to make 176 appearances in our colours, scoring an impressive 82 goals across all competitions. She ended the 2023/24 campaign with six goals and by playing a part in the Italian Super Cup victory over Roma in January.
Beyond the trophies she has helped us to lift, Barbara was the scorer of the Bianconere’s first-ever Serie A goal when she netted against Mozzanica back on 30 September, 2017, and our first two Women’s Champions League goals on 12 September, 2018, in a 2-2 draw with Brondby.
With Italy, as well, Barbara has achieved legendary status. She made her 100th appearance for her country on 23 February, 2024, against Ireland, and has 30 goals for the Azzurre.
A leader on and off the pitch and an inspiration for boys and girls all over Italy and abroad, we’re delighted that Barbara will be continuing her journey with us.
Congratulations, Barbara!
