Juventus will begin their campaign on Saturday 18 August at 18:00 CEST, at the Stadio Bentegodi. However, just four years ago The Old Lady also kicked things off away at Chievo.
THE START OF THE ALLEGRI ERA
On Saturday 30 August 2014, the Massimiliano Allegri era began at Juventus, with the former Milan coach replacing Antonio Conte in the summer, with the ex-Juve midfielder having just led Juve to three-straight Scudettos.
Who knew that Allegri wouldn't skip a beat, going on to lead the Bianconeri to four-straight titles, four years later.
TEAM LINE-UP
Juventus took to the field against Chievo lining up like this: Buffon; Caceres, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Marchisio, Vidal, Asamoah; Coman, Tevez.
It was a Juventus debut for Kingsley Coman who joined that summer from PSG.
MATCH RE-CAP
The game was decided by an own-goal from Cristiano Biraghi in the sixth minute, after Martin Caceres rose highest to Carlos Tevez corner to head onto the Chievo defender.
Juve were unlucky not to extend their lead in the first half with both Tevez and Caceres hitting the bar. In the second half Juve pressed further, however Chievo managed to create one dangerous chance with Gianluigi Buffon denying Maxi Lopez.
Fernando Llorente replaced man of the match Coman in the 68th minute, whilst Roberto Pereyra came in for Vidal in 86th minute. The Bianconeri were able to hold on to record an opening day 0-1 win, that would go on to see them crowned champions that season.
