Bentancur urges Juventus to keep working hard

It’s fair to say Rodrigo Bentancur probably envisaged a more positive Champions League debut but he was level-headed in his analysis post-match.

“We lost focus at times, especially after the break. We kept Leo Messi quiet for long periods but I’d already played against him and I knew he’s out of this world.

“The Champions League is on a different level to the Copa Libertadores – it’s faster and more physical,” he said when asked about his first taste of Europe’s top table. “Either way, I’m pleased to have that first match under my belt.

“We can and must do more,” concluded the Uruguayan. “We’re working towards our next match and we’re focused on playing better in Serie A before turning our attention back to the Champions League.”
