2017 has been a big year for Federico Bernardeschi. It was, of course, the year in which the Italian forward joined Juventus from Fiorentina in the summer.
In today's interview with Sky, ‘Berna’ looks back on his best moments from the last 12 months before looking forwards with confidence towards the New Year.
TWO TOP MOMENTS OF 2017
“First there was last season: a brilliant one for me, which enabled me to then make my move to Juventus. Then, there was the day of my arrival in Turin, with all the fans who had come to give me the warmest of welcomes. It’s a moment that still today makes me happy and proud."
BERNA & BUFFON
“Gigi (Buffon) and I come from the same city: Carrara in Tuscany. It’s inevitable that we talk about our hometown, which is an emotional topic for us.
“Both through his actions and his words, Gigi is a role model for everyone.”
FRESH FROM A BIG WIN OVER ROMA
“Beating Roma last weekend was very important, as we won against a strong team who are fighting for the top positions in the league. With this victory, we have sent a big statement of intent to our rivals. We need to keep going along this path.”
BEHIND THE SCENES OF BIANCONERI SUCCESS
“Before joining the club, I was always very impressed with Juve’s mentality and the way that the Bianconeri approached every single match. Now that I’m here, I have been able to really understand what goes on behind the scenes: hours and hours of constant, hard work; spirit of sacrifice; and a willingness to win and go all the way in competitions. I believe that this is what sets Juventus apart from the rest of the clubs.”
