Juventus Women are set to close out their 2023/24 season this coming Saturday. The Bianconere are on the road one last time this term to take on Sassuolo on 18 May, with kick-off at the Stadio Enzo Ricci set for 15:00 CEST.
Ahead of the trip to Emilia-Romagna, Coach Paolo Beruatto spoke.
THE WIN OVER ROMA
“The game against Roma went very well, we approached it in the right way and we applied ourselves correctly. We wanted to finish the season well, and we gave our all for the last home game of the season in front of our fans. There was a lot of motivation for us, and I have to say that we got what we wanted from the game. Now we have the last game of the season ahead of us, and we want to end the year as best we can.”
THE ATMOSPHERE IN BIELLA
“Our fans were excellent again on Monday [vs Roma]. We’re lucky to have the fans that we do, they always follow us with huge passion and they travel away as well. We saw that again on Monday and we’re happy to have ended our home campaign with a win. The hope is that this team and all of Italian women’s football can bring more fans in, and I don’t think it’ll be hard to achieve that because the level of football has risen considerably and the on-field spectacle has benefited as a result.”
THE LAST GAME OF THE SEASON
“We want to win our third game in a row in this Poule Scudetto, and it’s something we haven’t yet managed to do. We know it won’t be easy though because Sassuolo are arguably the most in-form team in the league at the moment. They’ve picked up some good results recently, but we’ll do our all and play our cards in the hope of taking home three more points. I’m expecting an open game and I’m sure that Sassuolo will give all they’ve got to win as well, because that’s always the way when teams face Juventus.”
A FORMATIVE MONTH
“I came in and immediately put myself at the girls’ disposal, and this last month of work has been important. I’m increasingly certain that there’s even more room for improvement here. Important steps have been taken in the last few years, but there’s always room to grow. What has impressed me the most here is the players’ desire to learn, to understand and to improve day after day. I’m personally pleased because I’ve received even more than I’ve given in the last month, and that is a great feeling.”
