Following the Bianconere's comeback win over Sassuolo last time out and looking ahead to this Friday night's Derby d'Italia meeting with Inter, Paolo Beruatto sat down to give his thoughts.
THE WIN OVER SASSUOLO
"The win against Sassuolo was important for us. The team reacted well after conceding and showed a lot of character, but I have to say that we risked next to nothing before falling behind. From then on, though, the reaction was excellent and it was by no means a foregone conclusion that we would win. Another positive was that, compared to other matches, we suffered a little less in transition, and that was one of our objectives for these last few games. The group is good together, and the girls who came on against Sassuolo make their impact felt. Paulina [Nystrom] scored the winning goal, but the contribution from all of the players who came off the bench was also key to the win.”
BOATTIN HITS 200 JUVENTUS APPEARANCES
“Lisa is a top player. Her experience is important and her goal, marking her 200th appearance, showed that. Celebrating the occasion with a goal was great for her, but for us too, and she’s been deserving of a goal from a set-piece for a long time. Shooting from set-pieces is one of her strengths.”
THE SECOND HALF OF THE POULE SCUDETTO
“Between now and the end of the season our goal has to be to improve. We’ve qualified for the Women’s Champions League, but we cannot now lower the bar and we have to keep focused to try to win every game that’s left. We’re working on our game and trying to iron out all of the little details that can benefit us. Ahead of Inter, for example, we’ve been working on our effectiveness in the final third of the pitch, because we often get into good areas without being able to take advantage of the chances we create.”
