Black & White Stories | Juve-Napoli home from home

There have been 76 league encounters played between Juventus and Napoli, with the Old Lady leading the head-to-head statistics with 47 victories, drawing 21 matches and losing just eight.

In Turin, this fixture has been played in four different venues, from the construction of the Comunale onwards. Here are four memorable moments from the various stadia, starting from the pitch that saw the most matches played.

COMUNALE

In the photo, Michael Laudrup is surrounded by a series of Napoli players, on whose shirts the title-winning tricolour badge stands out.

In this 1987/88 match-up, Juve beat the reigning Italian champions 3-1 thanks to goals from Antonio Cabrini (in the background of the photo above, watching the Dane), Ian Rush and Luigi De Agostini.

DELLE ALPI

This league match at the Delle Alpi against the Neapolitans ended 1-1, with Zinedine Zidane's opener cancelled out by Alfredo Aglietti.

THE OLIMPICO

We change stadium again, returning to the Comunale, which had been renovated and renamed The Olimpico. David Trezeguet (above) battles for the ball in a tough encounter, decided just two minutes from time with a late strike from Vincenzo Iaquinta.

ALLIANZ STADIUM

Juve-Napoli, 29 October 2016. One of the most memorable showdowns between these two sides, decided by ex-Napoli hitman Gonzalo Higuain, whose low drive in the 70th minute made it 2-1 to seal all three points.

The Bianconeri defence did well to contain the attacking threat posed by José Callejon, Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens, pictured here duelling with Andrea Barzagli as Leonardo Bonucci looks on.
