Arianna Caruso, on the occasion of Sampdoria-Juventus Women in the Italian Cup on Wednesday, 17 January 2024, reached 200 appearances with the black and white shirt.
A simply fantastic achievement, made even more special by the fact that Arianna is the first player in the history of Juventus Women to reach this impressive number of matches played, among all competitions.
As you may have already read, this time it wasn't us who spoke, but directly our number 21 who wrote a beautiful letter for the occasion, to "her" Juventus.
Below, however, we share her emotions the day after (Thursday, 18 January, ed.) she reached this milestone.
"Everything I think and have always thought about Juventus, I tried to write in those few lines. A book probably wouldn't be enough to explain all the emotions I felt in these 200 games. The best way to explain them, however, was on the pitch and I really hope I was able to convey the love and passion I have for this sport and for this Club. I would never have imagined reaching such an important figure. It was a dream, simply that. One of those dreams that when you get into bed at night go through your head when you close your eyes.
"If I compare the Caruso of the 2017/2018 season and the current one I see an aged Arianna (laughs, ed.), but the ambition has always been the same and I think this is the most beautiful aspect, the one that has allowed me to get to this point. Reaching this 200-game milestone was truly exciting. First of all because it coincided with an important victory on a pitch (that of Sampdoria, ed.) that not even a month ago had put us in difficulty by taking away three points from us. My teammates, however, were fantastic and we managed to bring home a precious victory for our journey in the Italian Cup and consequently this achievement was even sweeter. I received so much love from everyone, from the fans to my teammates, through to my family.
"I dedicate these 200 appearances above all to my family because in 2017 they supported me in my decision to come here to Juventus. Then I can't help but dedicate it to this Club, to my teammates and to all the staff, made up of wonderful people who work 'behind the scenes' and who have truly great value."
