Cuadrado off the mark at the World Cup

Colombia turned in an outstanding display as they dispatched Poland 3-0 in Kazan last night, with Juan Cuadrado completing the scoring to become the first Bianconero to score at the 2018 World Cup.

Los Cafeteros opened the scoring on 40 minutes when Barcelona's Yerry Mina headed past Wojciech Szczesny in the Poland goal. Colombia doubled their lead in the second half when Radamel Falcao slotted home on the counter-attack, with the Colombians adding a third in similar fashion just five minutes later. Cuadrado recieved an excellent through-pass from James Rodriguez to find himself one-on-one with Szczesny, and the Juve winger kept his cool to slot home.

Colombia now have three points and their first win in Group H, and will look to seal qualification in their final group game when they take on Senegal. Cuadrado's goal marks his first World Cup goal since the last tournament four years ago in Brazil, with the goal coming on the exact same day.
