Borussia Dortmund were left frustrated after being held to a goalless draw by struggling Hamburg at the HSV-Arena earlier this afternoon.
The visitors approached the encounter on a four-game winning streak in the league but despite bossing proceedings throughout, Jurgen Klopp’s charges were unable to make their pressure tell and had to settle for a point.
Today’s result leaves Dortmund sitting tenth in the league standings, six points off Augsburg who occupy the sixth and final European spot. The hosts meanwhile, who have not won in the Bundesliga since early February, remain just two places above the dreaded drop zone.
Klopp’s men now have a week to prepare for the visit of 13th-placed Cologne to the Westfalenstadion as they look to finish the season strongly following a disappointing start.
