Italy put their Under 21 European Championship campaign back on track with a 3-2 win over Switzerland in the second group match. The Azzurrini lost their opening fixture, against France, when Fabio Miretti came on for Nicolò Rovella in the closing 15 minutes.
While the inbound Juventus loanee played the entire match against the Swiss, Miretti remained an onlooker as an unused substitute.
Italy raced into an early two goal lead following strikes from Lorenzo Pirola on six minutes and Wilfred Gnonto in the eleventh. Fabiano Parisi grabbed a third in first-half stoppages to strengthen Italy's lead.
Switzerland rallied immediately after the restart, scoring through Kastriot Imeri on 47' and Zeki Amdouni on 52'. Italy held on however to collect three important points.
