From Paul... to Paul - where had we left off?

Today is Paul Pogba's first call-up of the season. After recovering from an injury picked up in the summer in the United States, to all intents and purposes the Juventus star midfielder is back at the team's disposal, and finally a great story can begin again.

And where does it start off from? From these numbers that certified the rise of a champion a few years ago, that demonstrate how a talented young prospect in Turin became a world class act.

POGBA FACTS

  • Paul Pogba was directly involved in 66 goals for Juventus in all competitions (34 goals and 32 assists), no teammate did better over his period at Juventus (seasons 2012/13-15/16).
  • In those four seasons at Juventus, no player scored more goals from outside the box in Serie A than Pogba with 14, equal with Miralem Pjanic. Since the return to a 20-team Serie A in 2004/05, Paul is the third-top Juventus scorer in Serie A for goals from outside the box, after Alessandro Del Piero (17) and Paulo Dybala (25).
  • Paul provided 12 assists in his last season with Juventus - a personal best for decisive passes in a single edition in Europe's top-five leagues. Broadening our gaze to the last three seasons at the Bianconeri (from 2013/14 to 2015/16), only Miralem Pjanic (28) and Marek Hamsik (26) provided more assists than his 22 in the Italian top flight.
  • With 28 goals, Paul is the third-highest scoring French player for Juventus in Serie A (after David Trezeguet and Michel Platini), four more than Zinedine Zidane (24). Furthermore, 50% of his goals (14/28) came from long-range.
