Monday was a special day for Giovanni Manna.
Today, in Turin, the Juventus Head of First Team received the 2023 USSI award for Manager of the Year, for his commitment and efforts carried out in the development of the juventus "Next Gen" project.
MANNA’S WORDS
“I thank you for this award, which must be shared with those who, together with me, have worked and are working on the youth's path; in recent years we have been reaping the fruits of a project that started a long time ago, and of which we are very proud. The objective of the Next Gen project is sporting, but also financial: let's not forget, for example, the many youngsters who play in the various Italian teams. We are happy and satisfied, we know that this is the right path and we must continue in this way. At the moment the results on the pitch are perhaps not just reward for the team, but we are there, over the years there have been ups and downs, also due to the fact that we have accelerated the transition of some Next Gen boys to the first team, so I am convinced that even on the field we will achieve our objectives, with tranquility and confidence."
On the First Team's ambitions:
“Our objective, as widely stated from the beginning, is to achieve qualification for next season’s Champions League while respecting the financial parameters. Then, it is clear, we are Juventus, it is our duty to seek victory and we will be ready for any situation we find ourselves in over the coming months."
