Her goals always leave us celebrating, and now we have another reason to rejoice, as Cristiana Girelli has committed her future to Juventus until 2022! The No.10 recently put pen to paper to extend her stay at the club - which commenced in 2018 and has been filled with nothing short of success.
Together alongside her Bianconere teammates, Girelli will look to continue the success story in the black and white jersey: it is one which has seen her win two league titles, a Coppa Italia trophy and the Italian Super Cup. And while the glistening trophies may shine bright on her resume, it’s her important, selfless displays and decisive goals that have helped lead her and Juventus to obtain such accolades.
Since her arrival at Vinovo from Brescia, Girelli has found the back of the net a total of 43 times across all competitions, making her the second highest goalscorer at the club after Barbara Bonansea. From her first goal against Chievo Verona in September 2018, to scoring in the Italian Super Cup final against Fiorentina (October 2019) and making history by securing Juventus’ 200th Serie A goal against Napoli in December 2020, Girelli’s ability to find the back of the net is what sets her apart from the rest.
With the New Year underway, she will approach the next challenges that awaits – starting with the Italian Super Cup semi-finals in January – with the same hunger and desire to help her teammates achieve new heights.
Congratulations, Cristiana! See you on the field!
