Centre-back Andrea Barzagli is celebrating his 34th birthday today.
Since joining from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg in January 2011, the stopper has established himself as a stalwart of the Bianconeri spine, winning four consecutive Scudetto titles and two Italian Super Cups in the process.
The ever-dependable defender has become an obstacle for opposition strikers to try and overcome, and he showed his mettle as a substitute when helping see out Tuesday’s 2-1 Champions League semi-final first leg triumph versus Real Madrid.
Barzagli will spend his birthday alongside the rest of his team-mates as they gear up for Saturday’s Serie A encounter against Cagliari.
