Another day of great challenges for Under-21 national teams
We have left behind another day of great challenges between Under-21 national teams chasing points for the qualification to the 2025 European Championships, friendlies and matches with which the various teams are trying to prepare their best asset for future commitments.
As already happened in the past few days, there are many Juventus players involved in these matches: let's find out together how things went in the last matches played.
YILDIZ STARTER IN FRIENDLY
Let's start with Kenan Yildiz, who played with the senior national team in a friendly match lost 1-0 against Hungary: at the Puskas Arena, the decisive goal for the hosts was scored by Szoboszlai from a penalty kick awarded by the referee for Unal's handball. The young Turkish attacker, fielded as a starter by Montella, remained on the field for 76 minutes, coming close to scoring on a couple of occasions.
UNDER-21 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
The excellent path of Italy Under-21 continues, first in Group A after the 2-0 victory against Latvia: Fabio Miretti played as a starter, making himself dangerous several times on an offensive level and contributing to the Azzurrini's success. About twenty minutes on the field also for Samuel Iling-Junior, who entered at the end of the match dominated by England Under-21 against Azerbaijan won 5-1, which brings the English national team to tie Ukraine at 15 points in Group F. Complicated evening instead for Tarik Muharemovic with the Under-21 of Bosnia - beaten 3-0 by Slovenia, with the Juventus Next Gen defender sent off for a double yellow card at the beginning of the second half.
Friendly match instead for Sweden U21 which dominates the match against Cyprus, beating the opponents 6-1 thanks also to the plays in the second half of Jonas Rouhi - author of the assist for the 5-1 goal scored by Melker Widell.
ITALY UNDER 16 BEATEN BY GERMANY
Complicated afternoon also for Italy Under-16, beaten with a clear 3-0 by Germany in what is the first defeat in this 2024 for the national team led by mister Daniele Zoratto - who will try to recover in the next few days in a second friendly match always against Germany. A difficult match also for Juventus player Marco Tiozzo Pagio, sent off at the end of the match.
