Coach Joe Montemurro has renewed his contract with Juventus Women, seeing his ties to the club extend by two years and until 2026.
The boss, then, will continue the work that he has been doing with the Bianconere since arriving in the summer of 2021. His commitment to expanding our limits, pushing the side to grow and bringing out the very best in each and every player remains as strong as ever.
The news of Montemurro's extension with Juventus comes just before our first competitive game of the 2023/24 season, which sees us in Women's Champions League qualification action against Kazakh side Okzhetpes. It will be the third European campaign that the coach has overseen, and it is in this very competition that we have shared some of our most memorable moments with the boss. In his first season in charge, he led us to the quarter-finals, pushing our Bianconere to unprecedented heights.
In that same season Juventus won the Scudetto, the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup. It was a historic treble, being the first time that all three trophies were won in the same season and the consequence of a year of hard work.
In 2022/23, Montemurro and the Bianconere faced a more complicated season, but one that still ended with silverware in the form of the Italian Cup. We again qualified for the Women's Champions League, but fell just short of making it out of a very competitive group.
Now, we're ready and looking forward to facing new challenges together.
Congratulations and good luck, Mister!
