Juventus celebrated the return of fans to Allianz Stadium with a 3-1 victory over Atalanta, with Paulo Dybala, Federico Bernardeschi and Alvaro Morata among the goals.
It was the perfect way for the Bianconeri to warm up for their league opener against Udinese next week – something acknowledged by coach Massimiliano Allegri and goalscorer Federico Bernardeschi when they spoke after the game.
MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI
“It was a really good test for us tonight against an excellent Atalanta side. In the first half we did well to establish a two-goal lead and we kept things tidy at the back.“We certainly should have done some things better: there were times when we played the ball forward too quickly, for example.“We looked very good in the second half and I think we can be happy on the whole.“What I really liked today was the spirit we showed, especially with a view to our first competitive match against Udinese.“We're getting better by the day and that's very important going into a new season.”
FEDERICO BERNARDESCHI
“I feel good at the moment. I came back later than some of the others but I'm trying to get back up to peak condition.“We played very well today. There was a good intensity to our play, against strong opposition.
“I thought we displayed the right spirit but we must maintain that and be willing to go the extra yard for our team-mates if we want to achieve our goals.
“I'm ready for the start of the season.”
