Juventus' final pre-season friendly will give us a taste of what is to come in Serie A, with the Bianconeri taking on Atalanta on Saturday, August 12. The sides will face off at the Orogel Stadium Dino Manuzzi in Cesena, with kick-off set for 20:30.
Having come through the United States Tour positively, the Bianconeri now face one last test against the Bergamaschi, which will be a challenge that shows Massimiliano Allegri how his squad are set for the 2023/24 season.
Two years ago, 3-1 at the Allianz Stadium
Juventus and Atalanta have met a number of times in Serie A and the Italian Cup, as well as 16 times in friendly matches. Of those, the Bianconeri have won eight to Atalanta's five, and three have ended all square.
The sides last faced off in a friendly two years ago on August 21, 2021, with Juve winning 3-1 at the Allianz Stadium. Then, the goals came from Paulo Dybala, Luis Muriel, Federico Bernardeschi and Alvaro Morata.
Boninsegna's brace in Bergamo
Before then, the most recent friendly had come in 2001 in the Valle D'Aosta Trophy. That game ended goalless after 90 minutes, and Marcello Lippi's men lost 3-2 on penalties.
The biggest margin of victory came in Bergamo back on September 3, 1997, when Roberto Boninsegna scored twice and Pietro Paolo Virdis added the other.
