A unique partnership, that’s never been seen before: the Freestyle World Championships broadcast live on TikTok! The largest Freestyle event in the world will be held in Nairobi, Kenya on November 25th. And Juventus will be present, as a media partner, in a unique and innovative way: the event will in fact be broadcast live on the Club’s official TikTok account.
Juventus Creator Lab therefore confirms its support of the Freestyle movement: last May, the Club’s first Freestyle contest was showcased on TikTok, won by Brazilian Adonias Fonseca (who will be present in Africa) who was then named the Club's official Freesyler.
And now, the announcement of a new and exciting partnership with the WFFA (World Freestyle Football Association) ahead of this highly-anticipated event, which will be hosted in the extraordinary setting of Bomas in Nairobi. The World Championship will bring together the 32 best freestylers from around the world for a unique demonstration of skill and competitiveness.
The finalists, who are representative of all continents, qualified for the event through a series of six regional qualifiers, the Pulse Series. Among the elite athletes who will compete in Nairobi are the two reigning champions, Erlend Fagerli (Norway) and Caitlyn Schrepfer (USA), who starred in last year’s event in Pula, Croatia.
The final stages of this competition will be broadcasted live on the official Juventus TikTok channel, and not only that: four of the finalists will have the opportunity to experience a trip to Italy in January for a content creation experience together with the Juventus Creator Lab in Turin. The Freestyle Champion will be judged according to the following categories: Best trick (for the best moment of the competition), Best battle spirit (dedicated to those who faced the competition with the greatest determination and energy), Most style (which will reward the freestyler with the most original tricks), and Most respect (award dedicated to fair play during the challenges).
“We are very excited to team up with the WFFA and the sport of Freestyle Football,” said Mike Armstrong, Juventus Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. “Juventus consistently strives for new innovative ways to connect with our fans globally, and this partnership allows us to take a more significant role within the freestyle football ecosystem celebrating and working alongside the best worldwide.”
“To have such a prestigious and iconic name in the Sports Industry wanting to collaborate in this way is very exciting for Freestyle Football”, said Dan Wood, Co-founder at the WFFA. “Juventus’ TikTok channel is one of the largest Football-themed channels worldwide; its extraordinary reach will allow fans all around the world to discover the amazing athletes at the World Freestyle Football Championship and to enjoy the event itself from a new and unique perspective.”
