The Integrity Tour 2023 stopped in Turin on 4 December, with Juventus playing host to a workshop held at both the Juventus Training Center and Vinovo. An initiative now in its ninth edition and promoted by Lega Serie A, Sportradar and the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo, the Integrity Tour is aimed at strengthening the culture of legality in the world of football and spreading the true values of sport.
Taking place at the JTC with the First Team and, subsequently, in Vinovo with the Primavera and Under 17 teams, the main objective of this initiative, which saw the participation of Juventus players, coaches and managers, is to educate and train all athletes on the seriousness of match fixing, to combat sports fraud and guarantee the smooth running of competitions.
During the workshop, lawyer Marcello Presilla, Head of Integrity for Italy at Sportradar AG, explained to members the phenomenon of match fixing in all its forms, illustrating its risks and consequences, and outlining the profile of the so-called "fixers" - criminals who try to involve footballers in sports scams by any means possible, endangering their careers and the very credibility of the football system. Presilla then examined with particular attention the problems linked to betting violations and the correct methods of use of social media by footballers.
These are the words of Cristiano Giuntoli, Football Director of Juventus, following the meeting:
"The responsibility towards the world of sport and towards the young generation has always pushed Juventus to support and host this important training meeting to raise awareness among its members, from the Youth Sector to the First Team, on the phenomenon of match fixing. Safeguarding the fairness of competitions and the values of sporting ethics is a primary objective for the club and we thank Sportradar, Lega Serie A and the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo for this initiative."
