Juventus Women are set to start their preparation to return to the field for the 2022/23 season. While pre-season starts next week, the first match date on the calendar is August 11, when the Bianconere take on Servette in a friendly.
Before more details on the playing side, there is a new entry in coach Joe Montemurro’s backroom staff with the addition of Stefan Alfero in the role of Individual Development Coach.
Pre-season officially starts on Monday 18 July, a day dedicated to medical check-ups. The following day, in the morning, the Bianconere will take to the field for the first training session of the season. Given that many players are involved in the European Championships currently being played in England, the squad will be reduced but can count on a number of players drafted in from the Under 19 team coached by Silvia Piccini. Depending on the results in the Women’s Euros, the internationals will start joining the group from August 1.
Listed below are the players that will arrive at Vinovo on Monday:
Roberta Aprile
Camilla Forcinella
Emma Mustafic (Under 19)
Cecilia Salvai
Margherita Brscic
Federica D’Auria (Under 19)
Matilde Lundorf
Irina Talle (Under 19)
Annahita Zamanian
Maddalena Nava (Under 19)
Ginevra Moretti (Under 19)
Sofia Cantore
From July 21-22 Sofia Bertucci (Under 19), Jasmine Mounecif (Under 19), Eva Schatzer (Under 19), Nicole Arcangeli and Elisa Pfattner will return to the fold.
The fixture list begins to take shape from August. The first outing for the Bianconere, the friendly against Servette, will be played in Carouge, a small town a quarter of an hour's drive from Geneva, at the Stade de la Fontenette, the stadium used by the Swiss side for their home games in the league.
After the test in Switzerland, focus will shift to the Women's Champions League. On Thursday 18 August, at 20h30 CEST, Joe Montemurro's team will play their first official match of the season, the first round of qualifying of UWCL, at Vinovo against Racing FC Union Luxembourg.
