Fernando Llorente says the Bianconeri must take full advantage of the upcoming five days of training to prepare as best as they possibly can for next Saturday’s Champions League final with Barcelona in Berlin.
The Spaniard, who netted his seventh Serie A goal of the season during this evening’s 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona, also believes that continued hard work is the way forward ahead of the showpiece event at the Olympiastadion.
Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone, he began by reflecting on tonight’s result: “It wasn’t an easy game, what with the final just around the corner. It was also very hot out there, the pitch wasn’t wet and it was difficult to play football.
“Despite that, I felt we deserved to win. We had many chances, not only from the penalty spot.”
He continued: “Now we need to make the most of this week, to prepare as best as we possibly can for the match with Barcelona. We’ll study all the aspects we have to improve and work hard, hoping to approach next Saturday’s game in top shape.
“We’ve always secured fantastic results in this way, and we’ll continue down this path. It’s natural that anxiety grows the closer we get to the game, but that’s normal. We’re about to play in a final.”
