Mario Mandzukic was on target as his Croatia side were held to a 1-1 draw by Hungary in last night’s international friendly contested at Budapest’s Groupama Arena.
The Juventus forward, fresh from 90 minutes against Israel on Wednesday, opened the scoring on 28 minutes when he gathered Ivan Perisic’s delivery from the left and slotted home from close range.
The hosts refused to lie down, however, and earned a share of the spoils through Balazs Dzsudzsak’s free-kick with 11 minutes remaining.
Elsewhere, Sami Khedira laid on a superb assist for Mario Gomez to put Germany two goals to the good against England last night in Berlin, only for the visitors to mount a spectacular comeback courtesy of goals from Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier.
Tonight will see Alvaro Morata’s Spain travel to Cluj-Napoca for an international friendly with Romania.
