After last weekend’s 3-0 derby defeat to Genoa, Sampdoria coach Vincenzo Montella has called on his team to end a difficult campaign with pride on Saturday evening at Juventus Stadium in the final league fixture of the 2015/16 season.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Montella instructed the visitors to ensure that they leave the home of the champions with their heads held high come full-time in Turin and to improve on the performance of the previous week.
“We need to round off our season in the right way, for ourselves and for our pride as a team. We’ve had a very difficult week but we must pick ourselves up and go again tomorrow against Juventus.
“After the derby defeat, we sat down as a group and talked through what went wrong over the 90 minutes. We would like to have finished higher in the table but there have still been some positives for us to carry in to next season.”
