Juventus Women are back in European Cup action as they prepare for Matchday 3 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, welcoming German group rivals Wolfsburg to Turin.
Ahead of Tuesday night’s fixture, kicking off at 21h00 at the Allianz Stadium, coach Joe Montemurro and Cecilia Salvai spoke to the media in the pre-match press conference.
Here is what was said:
JOE MONTEMURRO
PLAYING IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
"Every game is essential for us to learn. The more we play matches like the one with Chelsea and the one tomorrow, the more we will get used to playing at these levels.
"All the matches are important and at this level all the challenges are decisive. Being here is a matter of pride.
"We are playing at home, we will play our game and we are happy to play great matches like these.”
IMPROVEMENTS
"That evening against Chelsea was special, and I am proud to be here today. We hope to repeat it, with a different result, of course. Tomorrow, we will have to try to dominate the possession phase in midfield."
SQUAD UPDATE
“Lisa Boattin is fine, I'm lucky to have players like her and Amanda Nilden. Arianna Caruso is also fine.
"Lina Hurtig hasn't rested for a long time, having also played in the Olympics, but I see her well and in good condition.”
CECILIA SALVAI
HOME ADVANTAGE
"Playing at the Allianz will be a motivation that adds to those that every Champions League game brings. Our fans will definitely give us a hand.
"It will be important to pay attention to the details tomorrow. We have more awareness now than before.”
THE OPPOSITION
"We are working well on the defensive phase of play, as a team. We've studied Wolfsburg and knowing them well can make the difference."
