Juventus Women coach Joe Montemurro has been looking ahead to Wednesday afternoon’s Italian Cup quarter-final second leg against Sampdoria. The Bianconere have a 4-0 lead from the first leg to defend.
“I have all of the players available, which is important because there will be rotations to the team because we’ve got so many games so close together. But I’m calm about it because I know I have a very strong and competitive squad. I just have to decide who to play from the start, everybody is doing well physically.”
Fully focused on bouncing back
“Playing again a few days after the loss at Roma is important because we need to get back to thinking positively as soon as possible. So, for that, I have to congratulate the girls for reacting so well and they’re already focused on the Cup.
“The game against Roma was one of those. Unfortunately, there were moments of difficulty when we failed to take advantage of the chances we had. We’re sorry about the result, of course, but matches like that are decided by moments.”
All eyes on Samp
“Focusing on the Cup, we’ll try to focus more on ourselves against Sampdoria and take to the pitch with the right determination because we’re playing for a place in the semi-finals. Mentally, it will be very important to play well. We want to go through and be in the best place possible for the last few regular-season matches in the league.”
