On Both Sides | Juventus-Inter

Juventus-Inter is the Derby of Italy and in the match there have always been some former players on the pitch. As seen in the title photo here, showing Andrea Candreva taking part in Juventus-Inter three years ago in 2019/20, after experiencing a short adventure in Turin in 2010, arriving in Milan in 2016.

JUAN CUADRADO

Let's start with the most recent ex-player. 314 times we fought together, winning 11 trophies, 26 times we saw him rejoice, with his unmistakable dance, 59 times it was he who gave the joy of scoring to his teammates. Scorer of unforgettable goals, including some against his current team, Panita was often a thorn in Inter's side.

ARTURO VIDAL

He played at both clubs, scored with both teams in head-to-head matches, however there is no doubt that Arturo Vidal's bond with Juventus remains very strong and he has never hidden a feeling of belonging towards those who first helped him to showcase his talents in Italy.

FABIO CANNAVARO

The celebration in a Juventus-Inter won by an ex-player. However, Fabio Cannavaro's experience at Inter was a difficult one, before then being reborn in Turin, stepping up as the leader of the national team which saw him become a world champion in Berlin.

EDGAR DAVIDS

A foray forward by Edgar Davids in 2001/02's Juventus-Inter, the season in which one of the biggest moments of the rivalry between the two teams occurs, culminating in the Bianconero overtaking the Nerazzurri on a dramatic 5th May. The Dutchman is one of the leading Juventus players from 1997 to 2004. The move to Inter isn't a direct one because there is an experience in Barcelona involved in between.

LUCIANO BODINI

A catch from Luciano Bodini in Juventus-Inter. Few remember Dino Zoff's deputy (then, Stefano Tacconi's) ending his career as Inter's third goalkeeper in 1990/91. He did so without making a single first-team appearance because he was "blocked" by Walter Zenga and Astutillo Malgioglio.

MARCO TARDELLI

A truly extraordinary photo that contains a whole story, because in the Nerazzurri you can see one of the Juventus all-time legends, Marco Tardelli, who spent a decade in black and white and a brief two-season stint at Inter. Alongside him is Michel Platini, who played with him and who actually had signed a pre-contract with Inter in 1978, when the frontiers of Italian football were still closed. Subsequently, he would arrive at Juve, changing the history of him and of the club where he gave his infinite magic.
