The last game of the Serie A season sees Juventus host Monza at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Bianconeri earned a late 2-1 win over the Biancorossi in the reverse fixture, and will look to secure another victory in front of their home fans to end the 2023/24 campaign on a high.
Ahead of the 18:00 CEST kick-off, here are ten things to know about Monza.
- Monza is, together with Salernitana, one of the two teams that have not won in their last eight Serie A matches: there have been three draws and five defeats for the Brianza team in that period.
- Of the 45 overall points collected so far this season, Monza have won only nine (20%) against teams that currently occupy the top half of the table: more than only Frosinone (eight) and Salernitana (seven).
- Monza have not won away in four league games (2D, 2L) and could remain without success for five away matches in a row for the first time in Serie A.
- The Biancorossi are the team that has scored the highest percentage of goals from open play in this tournament: 77%, or 30 out of 39 overall.
- A victory over Juventus will see Monza reach 100 points in total in Serie A (currently 97); considering the three points per victory era, the Brianzoli would be only the 12th team to collect at least 100 points in the first two seasons ever in Serie A and the first since Chievo in 2001/02 and 2002/03 (109 - 54+55) .
- Milan Djuric has scored four goals this season with Monza, after scoring five in the first half of the season with Hellas Verona - only six players in the entire history of Serie A have managed to score at least five goals with two different shirts during a single campaign.
- Dany Mota scored a goal against Juventus at the Allianz last season – the last player to find the net with the same team for two away games in a row against the Bianconeri in Serie A was Ante Rebic, with Milan, in May and September 2021.
- Matteo Pessina's is one appearance away from playing his 100th matchvwith Monza.
- Matteo Pessina and Andrea Colpani are the two Monza players who took part in the most goals for the Brianza team over the last two Serie A seasons: 17 each, with 11 goals and six assists for the captain, 12 goals and five winning passes for Colpani.
- Lorenzo Colombo (four goals in the current campaign) could equal his best scoring season in Serie A (five in the last season with Lecce, in 33 matches), and could become the second youngest player to score at least 10, considering the last two seasons of the top division, after Matías Soulé (12, 2003).
