Juventus travel to Naples this weekend, taking on reigning Serie A champioins Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday evening at 20:45 CET.
After three draws in a row, Napoli earned a 6-1 midweek win over Sassuolo, yet still sit ninth on the Serie A table, 17 points behind the Bianconeri who beat them 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium earlier this season thanks to Federico Gatti's headed goal.
Ahead of Sunday evening's match-up, here's ten things to know about the Partenopei.
- Napoli have won the last four home matches against Juventus in the league, yet they have never achieved five home wins in a row against the Bianconeri in their Serie A history.
- There has only been one draw in the last 10 matches between Napoli and Juventus at the home of the Neapolitans in Serie A, with six victories for the home side and three from the visiting team.
- The Partenopei have earned 18 points in 12 matches at the Maradona this season, since their return to Serie A in 2007/08 they have only once collected fewer points at this point in the season in home games (14 in 2019/20).
- After the 6-1 victory over Sassuolo, Napoli could win two games in a row in the league for the first time since last September, against Udinese and Lecce in that case.
- The home side have recorded just one clean sheet in their last 11 league matches at the Maradona (0-0 against Monza on 29 December), after keeping six clean sheets in their previous 10 Serie A home games.
- Napoli is the Serie A team that has earned the most points after being behind this season (15).
- Victor Osimhen is only the third player in the history of Napoli to reach double figures in goals in four consecutive seasons in Serie A, after Diego Armando Maradona (between 1984/85 and 1987/88) and Attila Sallustro (between 1929 /30 and 1932/33). The Nigerian has scored in three matches in a row for Napoli in all competitions for the first time since the period between May and August (four matches in that case).
- Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took part in three goals in his only match against Juventus at home in the league (one goal and two assists on 13 January 2023), only against Sassuolo (four) has the Georgian been involved in more goals in home matches in the Italian top-flight.
- Giovanni Simeone scored six goals against Juventus in Serie A (including two braces: 27/11/2016 with Genoa and 30/10/2021 with Verona); only against Lazio did he hit the target more times in the competition (eight).
- Since his first goal against the Bianconeri in Serie A (27 November 2016), no player has scored more goals than Giovanni Simeone against Juventus in the Italian top-flight: six, equal to Duván Zapata.
