Roberto Pereyra is confident the squad’s hard work over the course of pre-season will enable them to burst out of the blocks come the start of the Serie A campaign.
With little over a week until the Bianconeri launch their title defence away at Chievo, the Argentine midfielder says he and his team-mates have one main target in their sights: a fourth consecutive Scudetto.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, the 23-year-old began: “Juventus must always be fighting to win the league and that’s precisely why we’re working so hard. We’re preparing ourselves to be ready and in form for the start of the campaign.”
Less than a month after joining from Udinese, Pereyra appears to have made a seamless transition to life in Turin and pledges to repay the positive welcome he has received with strong performances on the pitch.
“I’ve been given a wonderful welcome by my team-mates and the fans, who have made me immediately feel at home. I hope I’m able to repay their support by playing and scoring as much as possible.”
One of the Argentine’s strongest assets is his ability to operate in various positions across the park.
And after being fielded in several roles by Massimiliano Allegri over pre-season, Pereyra confirmed he is more than happy to put his versatility to good use as the campaign unfolds.
“The manager is very professional and you can see he works well. I like playing behind the strikers and either side of a central midfielder. A wide man in a front three? Why not? Whatever the manager wants…”
