Coach Massimiliano Allegri, captain Danilo and Weston McKennie comment after Friday night's big win over Napoli.
MASSIMILANO ALLEGRI
"It's an important step especially because for us, the victory has opened a 12-point gap over Napoli. We proved to be strong, showing our quality and technique. Tonight we needed a Juventus with great character especially in the final part, as Napoli were dangerous and are a strong team. The first half was good, especially when we managed to open up the game, then we had to slow down and keep the ball while we wanted to often accelerate immediately - we need to improve on this, as also happened after the goal."
"Championships are usually won by those with the best defence, apart from one year during Covid where Juve won with the best attack. We have to be good at not conceding goals, which doesn't mean always defending. We have to have good management of the ball. Federico Gatti is very dangerous in the opponent's area, he doesn't score goals by combination play, he is very good at looking for the ball. We had some favorable situations and we didn't take advantage of them, but the attackers will definitely come back and score goals."
DANILO
"As I said before the match, in the end it's the same three points, but it gives us a morale boost to pursue our path. There's still a long way to go, we're not even halfway there, but a victory like this is important. Federico Gatti is an example for all of us, he is a humble lad who works a lot, he too has had some difficult moments, but he is strong, resilient, today he once again demonstrated his Juve attitude until the end.”
WESTON MCKENNIE
"We are trying to create a strong spirit, not only on the pitch, but also off it; we are a group, and it is important, because if I know my teammates, I know what they need on the pitch too, and this can be seen when we make ourselves available to the team. The word "Scudetto"? I know it and we know it, we hope to be able to make it ours at the end of the season, but Champions League qualification is the main aim. However, we want to try to get this icing on the cake, for us, for the fans and all the staff."
