Press Room | Comments after Juventus Women-PSG

MASSIMILIANO CANZI

"This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting evenings of my career, as I did not have the luck or skill to play in the Champions League. I am sure it would be for any coach. You work hard to experience evenings like this. We did really well, and I have to thank everybody who helped me working on preparing for this game, because we have everything we need to perform at our best.

"Of course, I must thank the girls for all they have shown since the first day we met. A lot of things changed, and they immediately took it on board and got down to work.

"This is the right path and we want to continue along it. I can’t say much more now, because the season is very long and we are only at the beginning. For this particular match, the management of certain moments was key. Their game management was excellent.

"Estelle Cascarino? I think this type of game is perfect for her. She loves to attack. She is doing very well, she is proving to be a great player. The other girls, too. They really played a fantastic match. Now we have to turn our attention back to Serie A, because we have an away match against Lazio waiting for us [on Saturday]. Only after that will we start thinking about the return match in Paris next week."

AMALIE VANGSGAARD

“It’s important for us to start like this, and personally for my it was a very important goal to start the Champions League with a goal and to take the win.”

“It feels good [to score against my old team], I played a lot as a wing-back at PSG and now I have the chance to play as a striker at Juventus and show that I can score goals. Of course it’s special to score against your old team, but I’m a Juventus player now and I want the best for Juventus.”

“PSG are a good team and we have to respect them [in the second leg]. We’ll go out as hard as possible and we’ll try to win the second leg too. But we’re taking a good result there, and I’m sure we’ll go there to win."

SOFIA CANTORE

"We definitely had a very good performance, against a great team. Now we have to think about the away match against Lazio and then next week the return match against PSG. We are obviously very happy with this result, though.

"I feel very good physically and I am happy because feeling good helps me to perform at my best. Overall, I can say that the whole group is doing well, both physically and mentally. We are a very tight-knit group, I will never tire of repeating that. We train hard to achieve our goals and one of them is to reach the group stage of the Women's Champions League. We know it won't be easy, since we have a top-class opponent in front of us, but we will play our cards right in the return match.

"I don't know [if I'd say I'm becoming a leader in the team], I have my own way of being within the team which is to always try to bring positivity. At the leadership level, I think there are a lot [of players who bring that] in this group, so I feel I have more responsibility this year, but I am not scared of it because it is a path to growth that I am following."
