Press Room | Comments after Udinese-Juventus

THIAGO MOTTA

“[The win and performance] was a huge response and a team victory because we approached the game in the best possible way for the full 95 minutes. In the first half, we could have been a bit more adventurous, as Udinese allowed us to play out from the back and we managed to create some chances. However, we lacked depth, especially out wide. After going 2-0 up, it was natural for Udinese to try to react - they’ve been strong at home this season and are a confident team. We managed to regroup, defend well, and counter-attack effectively, switching between long and short balls. This win was fully deserved.

"Now, we need to shift our focus to the Champions League and recover well to face Lille at our best. [Khephren] Thuram? Today, he showed his unique dynamism. I was very impressed with his performance: he was extremely focused in defence and brought quality to our attack. He not only excels in his role but also when carrying the ball, which makes him an important player. He scored a beautiful goal, but more importantly, he delivered a strong team performance with his teammates.”

TIMOTHY WEAH

“Playing both as a winger and a forward comes down to instinct for me, since I’ve spent part of my career as a no.9, so it feels natural. In recent games, I’ve seen Francisco [Conceicao] deliver crosses from the right side, so it’s been instinctive to make those runs… I feel great here; this team is fantastic for me, we’re a young group, and it’s an opportunity to play well. We have to keep going like this because when we play this way, we’re strong.”

NICOLO SAVONA

“Being named Player of the Match is an incredible personal achievement, but we all put in a fantastic team performance. This win is for the fans. Am I the youngest Italian with at least two goals? That makes me very happy, but I need to keep pushing, even if it’ll be tough.”

KHEPHREN THURAM

“We showed that we’re a great team; you can see that when we play a first half like that. It doesn’t matter if the goal was mine or an own goal - the important thing is the effort and the team performance. I’m happy to be here with such great players; I’m learning every day.”
