Press Room | Post-match Sassuolo-Juventus reaction

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

“We should have played a different game. The first half especially wasn't good. In the early stages we were too static and didn't attack the spaces enough. We could have drawn level after falling behind, but the defeat is deserved. In the second half, the changes led to a reaction, even if they weren't enough. We would have liked and should have made a leap forward on the table, getting closer to the two Milan teams, but that didn't happen. We have to keep working to improve because this was a good opportunity to further cut the gap in the standings. We have to improve our approach to the match and avoid losing concentration in the decisive moments of the match.”

DANILO

“We gave Sassuolo too many chances, and then we were no longer able to recover: other times we did manage to fight back, this time we didn't. We’re obviously disappointed, we didn’t speak about it in the dressing room, but from Tuesday we need to put it behind us and be as strong as ever as a big game in Lisbon awaits us. Barbieri? He’s a good lad, but that's not why he made his debut, that happened because if he deserves it. He really has a lot of quality.”

TOMMASO BARBIERI

“It was an incredible emotion for me, making my debut as a starter, but I am very disappointed with the result of the match. From the beginning I tried to give my best, my teammates helped me a lot and complimented me, because they are a really great group. My debut is the confirmation of the success of the Next Gen project.”
