Preview: Juventus vs Torino

City bragging rights are at stake as Juventus host Torino in the 159th instalment of the Derby della Mole, taking place at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening.

  • This will be the 159th Derby played between Juventus and Torino in Serie A. The Bianconeri hold the head-to-head advantage with 77 wins compared to Torino’s 35, with 46 draws completing the picture.
  • Juventus have gone unbeaten in 35 of the last 36 derbies against Torino in Serie A (26W, 9D), drawing the most recent match against the Granata in the league (0-0, on 13 April). The two teams have not drawn two matches in a row in the competition since the period between October 2001 and February 2002.

  • All of the last five goals scored in the Derby della Mole in Serie A have come from set-pieces (four from corners and one from an indirect free-kick), and all by Juventus (Danilo, Gleison Bremer, Adrien Rabiot, Federico Gatti and Arek Milik).
  • Torino have not won away against Juventus in Serie A since 9 April 1995, when they won 2-1 at the Delle Alpi, thanks to a Ruggiero Rizzitelli double, under coach Nedo Sontetti.
  • Juventus have not suffered defeat in 19 Serie A matches (7W, 12D): among all the teams in the top five European leagues, they are the side with the longest unbeaten run, and the only team that has not lost since the beginning of April.
