It has been a fruitful three years for Sami Khedira at Juventus and the club is delighted to announce that the player has signed a contract extension which will keep him with the Bianconeri until XXXXX.
Since joining from Real Madrid in 2015, Khedira has been an ever-present in midfield, enriching the team’s quality with his class, charisma, technical and tactical expertise, not to mention his abundance of international experience.
The German’s crystal-clear reading of the game, whether it be the timing of a tackle, interception or burst forward into the box, has made him an invaluable member of the Juventus line-up, while he also poses an increased goal threat, proved by his career-record nine strikes during the 2017/18 season.
The last German midfielder to score more goals in a single Serie A campaign was former Bianconero, Andreas Möller, in 1993/94. Sami’s overall tally of 19 strikes makes him Juve’s highest-scoring midfielder since his arrival at the club.
If his final years in Madrid were affected by injury, Khedira has enjoyed great physical form and consistency in Turin. Over the last three seasons, no Bianconeri midfielder has played more minutes than him: 8,633 in all competitions.
A World Cup winner with Germany in 2014, Khedira has continued his trophy-laden career at Allianz Stadium, so far collecting three Scudetti, three Coppa Italia titles and an Italian Super Cup.
Here’s to plenty more success for Sami in the black and white!
