Sara Gama becomes a Barbie doll!

When the Juventus Women’s team was announced last year, the Bianconeri could hardly have picked a better player and person to be their captain for the inaugural season than Sara Gama. An un-forgiving and rock-solid defender on the pitch and a role model off it, Gama shows every day what is possible through hard work, perseverance and integrity.

Today, on International Womens Day, the Juventus Women captain is one of 17 female personalities of the past and present throughout the world to be created into their own doll inspiring the next generation of girls to dream big and achieve their goals!

“To be an example for the next generations in breaking down barriers of society that are mirrored in sports is a goal that pushes me to give more and more,” said Gama. “Barbie has long been a part of the childhood of young girls and I like how they inspire them to achieve their dreams through playing, today more than ever."

Born in Trieste on 27 March, 1989, Gama is captain of both Juventus Women and the Italian National Team and the president of the commission for the development of female football in Italy. She has featured for several teams in Italy as well as Paris Saint-Germain in France and won the European U-19 title in France in 2008. Gama holds a degree in foreign languages and literature from the University of Udine.
