Sarri: “Juventus – Inter a game like no other”

The Tuscan tactician and the goalkeeper spoke about the forthcoming match against Inter, scheduled for Wednesday at 13:30 CEST. It will be a match where both teams will renew their rivalry, while Antonio Conte will come up against his former club for the first time too.

Here’s what they had to say.

MAURIZIO SARRI

“Juventus- Inter is a game like no other, but you will see two teams facing each other that will not be able to express themselves at their best, because of the physical conditions and given the humidity rate. We'll try to carry on in the same manner as our initial comeback against Spurs.

“I don’t expect a big difference to that of the first game. We haven’t been training a lot in this tour, but we are playing a lot, and thus, the decisive phase of training will happen from the end of July until 10 August.

“In football you can't just attack so we'll have to work on the defensive phase too. Cristiano will be used mostly out on the left, knowing that he loves to get forward, he must make the difference."

“I think the level of the Italian coaches is obvious and from this point of view we are one of the most important movements. The gap with other leagues like the Premier is not tactical, but it's economical.

“Paulo Dybala could easily fit into the “false nine” role, but we could also find a different solution, like that of playing as a ‘trequartista’ on the back of two strikers.”

WOJCIECH SZCZESNY

“What do I think of Nanjing? It's very hot, but it's a beautiful city and there are a lot of fans. We will try to repay them tomorrow with a nice show. Playing with a high line also changes the role of the goalkeeper, because you have to help the team with the balls in depth. We have to find the right balance, but we are working on it.

“I’m happy that Gianluigi Buffon is back, we know that he has an important role here. I have had a great rapport with him since two years ago. Now he's back and in my opinion it's a great move by the club.

“De Ligt is a young lad and we will look to help him. He is a great defender and I'm sure he has a great future here at Juventus.”
