Juventus will be in action again tomorrow might against Udinese, and in light of the lcash at Allianz Stadium, Mister Sarri previewed the fixture.
Naturally one of the first points of discussion was that of the backline, following the injury of Merih Demiral and Matthijs de Ligt’s return to fitness: “de Ligt is in great shape and the game against Roma confirmed that. I'm very sorry for Merih Demiral. It happened in a particular moment in which he was growing a lot, demonstrating that he's a Juventus player and having scored his first goal for the club
“Daniele Rugani is an important player for us, and we consider him very highly. Emre Can can play in a three-man defence, as he does so for German National team. In a four-man defence it takes a bit longer to adjust.”
He went on to add: “We'll be coming into the game after having played a match three days ago, in which we used up a lot of energy. Our goal is to go all the way in the Coppa Italia, so we'll find the right motivations to regroup.
“Our three forwards are all in good shape. Cristiano is fine and in great form and I want to speak to him tomorrow to find out whether or not to play him. Pjaca is a great player who has been very unlucky. If there's a chance for him, I'll be more than happy."
Sarri then touched on who could start in goal: “I think that Gianluigi Buffon will play. He is a fundamental resource for us both on and off the pitch. I will make the final evaluations of who else will take to the pitch tomorrow morning.”
The coach then concluded by touching on the status of some of his players: “I speak with Paulo Dybala every day, also because I like him. I spoke with him also today to find out how he is. We are fortunate to have so many strong forwards and this is a great asset for us. Bernardeschi has all the attributes to play box-to-box and he's trying out this role with the right enthusiasm.
“Rabiot is improving all in terms of his condition, his interpretation of his role, defensive aggression and intensity."
