Juventus take on Sporting in Lisbon for just the second time in European competition, drawing 1-1 in the Portuguese capital on Matchday 4 of the 2017/18 Champions League group stage.

Taking a 1-0 lead from last week's first leg, below are several curiosities ahead of tonight's second-leg quarter-final clash at the José Alvalade Stadium.

  • Juventus could reach the semi-finals of a European competition for the first time since 2016/17, when they faced Monaco in the Champions League. The last time they reached the semi-final of the Europa League was in 2013/14, when they took on Benfica.
  • Juventus have won all of their last four matches played in European competition without conceding a goal – the last time the Bianconeri kept five clean sheets in a row in Europe was in March 2013 in the Champions League.
  • Angel Di Maria has been involved in seven goals in seven European cup appearances for Juventus this season (four goals and three assists). With the Argentinian playmaker on the pitch, the Bianconeri have won 57% of their matches in European this season (4/7), without him the win-percentage drops to 25% (1/4).
  • Juan Cuadrado and Filip Kostić are the only two Juventus players to have played in all 11 of the Bianconeri's matches this season between the Europa League and Champions League.
  • Sporting have failed to win any of their last four home games played in Europe (D2 L2) – the Portuguese side have never recorded five home games in a row without victory in major European competition.
