The wait is over! The start of the 2018 World Cup has finally arrived.
The opening match between Russia and Saudi Arabia at 17.00 CEST will officially kick off the start of the most important and most followed international competition. Juventus have a grand history with the World Cup, as the Old Lady are the team to hold the highest number of world champions, with a total of 24. The 11 Bianconeri players competing in Russia will try to defend this record and therefore Juventus will be showing their support for their players throughout the tournament.
The first to take the field will be Rodrigo Bentancur, tomorrow Friday 15 (17:00 CEST) as Uruguay play against Egypt, followed by Morocco captain Medhi Benatia with his team taking on Iran (18:00 CEST).
Saturday 16 will be a day full of Bianconeri international commitments, starting with Blaise Matuidi's France playing Austria at 13:00 CEST. Then followed by Argentina, as Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain take on Iceland at 16:00 CEST, with the day concluding with Mario Mandzukic and Marko Pjaca representing Croatia who play Nigeria at 21:00 CEST.
On Sunday 17, Germany will make their tournament bow with Sami Khedira, who play Mexico (18:00 CEST), whilst Brazil and Douglas Costa take on Switzerland (21.00 CEST).
The first round of opening matches concludes on Tuesday 19, first up will be Juan Cuadrado, whose Colombia team faces Japan (15:00 CEST), and then onto Poland, with Wojciech Szczesny who take on Senegal (18:00 CEST).
