Tales From Hurra | 1985, four goals and... the Cup!

Among the previous matches against Lecce in Turin, there is one that is truly very special. It takes us back to December 1985.

The more sharp-minded fans have already connected the dates: Juventus was returning from Japan, having won the first Intercontinental Cup in its history, beating Argentinos Juniors on penalties.

The January 1986 issue of Hurra Juventus dedicates a long special to that triumph, of which we will show you some excerpts.

That Cup was lifted on December 8, 1985, and Juventus-Lecce was to be played on the 22nd. It is a day of great celebration at the Comunale, and the star of the show was the Cup itself!

Onto the game!

Two braces settled a comfortable win. Aldo Serena scored twice in the second half, and Michel Platini took control in the second to score two gems in the space of six minutes.

DID YOU KNOW, PART 1...

Michel's two goals served to celebrate the Ballon d'Or, won for the second time by Le Roi a few days earlier and shown off at the stadium before the game.

DID YOU KNOW, PART 2...

The Lecce captain on that day was none other than "the Baron", Franco Causio.
