One of the most memorable Milan-Juventus matches, as agreed by many Juve fans, was the encounter that took place on 6 April 1997.
The Bianconeri are the best team in Europe, and at San Siro they confirm their status among the best following their 6-1 European Super Cup victory against Paris Saint-Germain in France. In Milan they register the same scoreline against the Rossoneri who, despite being the reigning Italian champions, were totally outclassed by Vladimir Jugovic and his teammates.

THE CELEBRATIONS IN "HJ"
That April issue (1997, ed.) of the Juventus periodical rightly dedicates space to this historic success.
Thus we read in Hurrà: "Juventus inflicted a historic defeat on Milan, the heaviest defeat ever suffered by the Rossoneri on their own pitch. The Milanese had lost at most 5-1 against Genoa in the '57-58 season and against Inter in '73-74. As for Juventus, the last away match in the championship with 6 goals was against Naples in the '74-75 season."
And then again: "This year the formidable Bianconeri had already achieved a 6-1 at the Parc des Princes in Paris in the Super Cup final against Paris St. Germain. You can see that large stadiums and large audiences give our team very particular excitement: concentration, competitive spirit, and a truly top athletic presence."
STARRING AT THE SAN SIRO
Two braces, from Vladimir Jugovic and Christian Vieri, with goals from Nicola Amoruso and Zinedine Zidane, gave the entire Club and the Juventus fans a dream, iconic evening, a night very difficult to forget.
The authors of four of the six final goals spoke at the end of the match.
"A deserved victory," began Vladimir Jugovic, "our start was ferocious, we played an excellent match, everything worked perfectly. On the first goal I looked for and found the target, on the second I shot instinctively."
These, however, were Christian Vieri's feelings: "We were great, the six goals are deserved, even if unexpected. My two, after the thousandth goal with the national team, have enormous personal value."
There was also no shortage of praise from the Coach to crown a perfect black and white evening.
The most sensational success of my management. Beating Milan wasn't the same as beating them three months ago. The team was focused at the right point: I was confident. My Juve wants to resemble a winning team. Like Capello's Milan. Vieri had a hand in all the goals. And Zidane played a great match. They all deserve high praise. Marcello Lippi
